Ingraham squeaks home in the Bahamas

The leader of the opposition, Hubert Ingraham, turned the tables on Prime Minister Perry Christie on 2 May by narrowly winning the parliamentary elections in the Bahamas. Five years ago Christie came to power at the expense of Ingraham, who led the Bahamas from 1992 until 2002, with a crushing victory at the polls. This was a much closer affair.
