MEXICO: Governor plotted to abuse journalist

An investigative commission of the supreme court, chaired by Juan Silva Meza, concluded in a preliminary statement on 26 November, that the governor of the state of Puebla, Mario Plutarco Marín , had plotted to have an investigative journalist, Lydia Cacho, arrested and tortured while she was in custody. The full supreme court is now considering the evidence collected by Silva Meza.
