Uruguay enters minefield over amnesty laws

Development: On 26 June the Uruguayan government announced that President José Mujica is set to sign a decree whereby it would revoke all administrative acts adopted by previous administrations which upheld the ‘Ley de Caducidad' and prevented judicial investigations into criminal acts conducted by state forces during the military dictatorship (1973-1985).
