The Polo Democrático Alternativo (PDA) has called for an investigation in Santos’s behaviour because a sitting president cannot intervene in electoral campaigns; it has also brought to the media’s attention a 2008 document from the prosecutor general’s office that forbids Guerrero from bidding for, accepting, or participating in public works projects. Guerrero accepts the validity of the document but argues it doesn’t ban him from holding public office.
