ARGENTINA: Crimes affecting public insecurity are declining

In the province of Buenos Aires, home to 39% of Argentina’s population, the number of crimes contributing to the perception of insecurity — homicide, kidnappings and robbery — has been falling. This is the main finding of a report released in August by the provincial justice & security ministry. Since 2009 the rates of these crimes have fallen in 22 of the 24 districts of the Greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area; in 14 of them by more than 10%.
