MEXICO: Another scandal in Guerrero

Two college students were shot dead this week during a protest at Chilpancingo, the capital of the state of Guerrero, on the main highway linking Mexico City to the resort of Acapulco. Protests in the southern state of Guerrero have long had a tradition of turning violent, but what happened on 12 December is unprecedented: the state police and the federal police both released videos of the protests which purported to show that the other force was to blame for the shooting of the two students.
