BRAZIL: Border strategy yields first promising results

Within two months of its official launch, Brazil’s new border strategy [SSR-11-067-07] began to be tested in the field. Initial results, in both prevention (or at least dissuasion) and repression, have encouraged the government to announce that actions under the plan will be extended into 2012.
