EL SALVADOR | Homicide rate rises after 2010 dip. The national police (PNC) reports that in November there were 375 homicides. On the bright side, this was the second month running in which the number fell. On the negative side, that decline came after a 26% increase between February and August; the November total was the worst for that month in three years. It also raised the accumulated number of homicides in the first 11 months of 2011 to 4,005, one more that the figure recorded for the whole of 2010.
