Argentina | Malvinas/Falkland tensions. On 31 January the UK announced the deployment of HMS Dauntless, the most sophisticated destroyer in the Royal Navy, to the South Atlantic. Argentina responded by asking for “more diplomacy [and] less weapons”, and stated that the “Argentine people laments that the royal heir [Prince William] will arrive on national soil with the uniform of conqueror and not the wisdom of the statesman who works for peace and dialogue between nations”.
