Martinelli’s temporary amnesia
Development: On 1 February Panama’s human rights ombudsman, Patria Portugal, agreed to mediate between the government of President Ricardo Martinelli and indigenous groups from the Ngäbe Buglé comarca (an indigenous political administrative region) who have been blockading the Pan-American Highway since 30 January in protest over a new mining bill.
