NICARAGUA: Bandits or resurgent Contras?
The leader of a Nicaraguan armed group that claims to represent ‘the return of the Contras’ was reported arrested in Honduras in early January and handed over to the Nicaraguan authorities. Honduran and Nicaraguan officials have denied any knowledge of this episode; in mid-January the body of the purportedly arrested man turned up inside Honduras.
