Boudou likens Cameron to the junta. On 2 February Argentina’s vice-president, Amado Boudou, said that “just like the military did here, they [the UK government led by Prime Minister David Cameron] are trying to cover up [domestic] problems like high unemployment, Scottish separatism and social dissatisfaction with a subject of high media impact and want to cover up the daily reality with an issue that is very removed from London, like the Malvinas”. Boudou’s statement coincided with Prince William’s arrival at the Falklands to participate in a Royal Air Force training course.
