Argentina – Uruguay | Trade mission called off. On 8 February Uruguayan authorities confirmed that a trade mission that was soon to visit Buenos Aires to discuss bilateral trade tensions has been called off. The decision was made after Luis Porto, Uruguay’s deputy economy minister, received a phone call from Beatriz Paglieri, the Argentine secretary for foreign trade, in which the latter assured Porto that “many” of the 138 pending import licenses would be approved “over the coming hours”.
