MEXICO | Tamaulipas governors. On 5 February Enrique Peña Nieto, the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) presidential candidate, took the major political gamble of defending the three former PRI governors of Tamaulipas under investigation by the federal government for alleged links with gangsters [WR-12-05]. Peña Nieto is challenging the federal government to produce the evidence it has for its investigation or to shut up.
