VENEZUELA: Aponte abandons ship and is branded a traitor
On 24 April the unicameral national assembly condemned and ordered a public ministry investigation into the former supreme court magistrate turned US-informant, Eladio Aponte Aponte. It also asked the defence ministry to strip him of his military credentials. The assembly’s president, Diosdado Cabello, branded him a traitor.
