Correa government hails poverty reduction

Development: On 30 April the director of Ecuador’s national secretariat for planning (Senplades), Fánder Falconí, and Byron Villacís, the director of the national institute of statistics and census (INEC), announced that the poverty rate stood at 28.6% at year-end 2011.
