COLOMBIA: US-Colombia FTA gets start date
Colombian businesses and political leaders have been waiting for 15 May 2012, the date on which the US US-Colombia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will take effect, for almost six years. Some wait in expectation, hoping that the FTA will create new opportunities, others it in fear, dreading the prospect of cheap US manufactured goods flooding the domestic market and undermining the competitiveness of their own products.
