Ecuadorean law enforcement discovers another semi-submersible. In the early hours of today (27 June) Fernando Noboa, the commander of the Ecuadorean coast guard in Guayaquil, said that late last night, members of the navy, the coast guard and the port of Guayaquil had discovered a vessel, hidden in the mangroves of Puná island in the gulf of Guayaquil, that was being converted into a semi-submersible. According to Noboa, the conversion was 70% complete, the vessel had come from Peru and could transport between 10 and 15 tonnes of drugs in a single trip.
