Brazil, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico: On 11 July the US Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, along with the US Customs and Border Protection Acting Commissioner, David Aguilar, and the Assistant Secretary for International Affairs, Alan Bersin, began a three-day official visit to Brazil, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Brazil's foreign minister, Antonio Patriota, met Napolitano in Brasília on 11 July. On the agenda were proposed measures to ease bilateral visa restrictions under trusted traveller programs, global supply chain security, intellectual property rights enforcement and joint efforts to combat human trafficking. Napolitano will also meet members of the American Chamber of Commerce as well as members of the Council of the Americas. In the Dominican Republic, US officials will meet President Leonel Fernández and other officials to discuss law enforcement cooperation and efforts to fight trafficking. The official visit will finish in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where Napolitano, Aguilar and Bersin will meet Governor Luis Fortuño, Resident Commissioner Pedro Pierluisi and colleagues from the Department of Homeland Security stationed in the island.
