The untimely death in October 2010 of Argentina’s President Cristina Fernández’s husband and predecessor, Néstor Kirchner (2003-2007), had several unexpected side-effects, which now threaten to intensify the permanently brewing political realignments inside the ruling Partido Justicialista (PJ, Peronists) and, more specifically, in Fernández’s dominant Frente para la Victoria (FPV).
