With 2012 written off, the Rousseff government looks to 2013

Despite the government’s best efforts, latest forecasts are for real GDP growth of just 1.6% year-on-year in 2012.  Barring the 2009 recession (-0.6%), that would be the worst result since the left leaning Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT) first came to power under Lula da Silva in 2003 , when annual growth was a paltry 1.2%.
