CHILE: Codelco resolves dispute over AAS
Chile’s state-owned mining company and the world’s leading copper producer, Corporación Nacional del Cobre (Codelco), has managed to resolve a complex dispute with its partner, the multinational mining firm Anglo American (Anglo), over the ownership of Anglo American’s Chilean subsidiary, Anglo American Sur (AAS). In obtaining a settlement, Codelco managed to hold onto a stake in the profitable AAS, while keeping on board an important business partner.
