ENERGY: Latin America begins to exploit its global Sunbelt position

Latin America’s good potential for solar energy generation is widely recognised, yet solar production in the region is low. This is especially true of the large economies, which have largely favoured more traditional energy sources (i.e. thermal and hydro). Latest developments in Chile suggest the sun is finally starting to shine on regional solar energy.
