A scandal in the skies. On 4 November, an opposition national deputy and former health minister, Graciela Ocaña (2007-2009), denounced that a leading member of the ruling Frente para la Victoria’s youth movement, La Cámpora, Mariano Recalde, who operates the holding group for the re-nationalised carrier Aerolíneas Argentinas (AA), receives three salaries (one as director of the holding group and another two from the state carriers AA and Austral). Ocaña, who made her allegations on a local TV show,
Periodismo para Todos, also pointed to several other inconsistencies in Recalde’s official declaration of assets, as filed with the anti-corruption office (OA), including an alleged U$89,000 loan for another
Camporista, the deputy secretary of justice Julián Alvarez. Alvarez did not mention the loan in his declaration of assets. Recalde's declaration also notes that he received a loan from AA, the group he is in charge of overseeing. Ocaña will take her accusations to the courts today (5 November).
