The US - no request to release Trinidad

Development: On 7 November the US ambassador to Colombia, Michael McKinley, said that the US has not received any request from President Juan Manuel Santos or any other representative of the Colombian government to allow ‘Simón Trinidad’ (Juvenal Ovidio Ricardo Palmera Puineda), a member of the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Farc) serving a 60-year prison sentence in the US, to participate in the peace talks due to begin in Havana, Cuba, on 15 November.
