ARGENTINA: Army chief retires after corruption charge

The commander in chief of the army, Lieutenant General Roberto Bendini, tendered his resignation last week after being accused of embezzling public funds by the federal appeals court in Comodoro Rivadavia, in the southern province of Chubut. President Cristina Fernández appointed his deputy, General Luis Alberto Pozzi, to replace him.
