HONDURAS: New US ambassador kept waiting for a week

Relations between Honduras and the US are going through a distinctly rocky patch. President Manuel Zelaya agreed to accept the credentials of the new US ambassador to Tegucigalpa, Hugo Llorens, on 19 September, but only after a humiliating delay as Zelaya showed “solidarity" with Bolivia which had expelled its US ambassador a week earlier for allegedly conspiring against the country's government.
