More backing for gang truce in El Salvador

Development: On 17 November a broad coalition of El Salvador's churches launched a new initiative in support of the truce declared by the country’s two main gangs, Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) and M-18, which was brokered by the government of President Mauricio Funes eight months ago, as a new strategy for reducing the country’s high homicide rate.
