Campaign financing. The presidential campaign of Cristina Fernández last October contained financing irregularities, according to auditors from the Argentine electoral chamber. They concluded that the campaign-financing report presented by the ruling Frente para la Victoria (FV), included donations of nearly Arg$1m (US$314,000) without receipts and contributors with the same ID numbers but different names, among other irregularities. The findings come at an awkward time for the government given the ongoing trial in Miami over the suitcase containing US$800,000, allegedly meant for Fernández's campaign, which was confiscated in an Argentine airport from a US-Venezuelan businessman last year.
