COLOMBIA: Farc tries to redefine the talks process

As the second round of peace talks got under way in Havana, the Farc tried again to take the process beyond the confines of the negotiating table, by using an agreement of public ‘participation’ into a countrywide ‘mobilisation’ in support of their political programme. For his part, President Juan Manuel Santos let it be known that he wants the peace agreement to be concluded by November 2013, a deadline with political connotations for him.
