ARGENTINA | Positive trade figure released early. President Cristina Fernández said this week that Argentina had posted a trade surplus of US$12.6bn in 2012, a 26% increase on the previous year. According to Fernández, the positive figure was the result of the various policies adopted by her government last year allowing the country to reduce overall imports by 8%, thus offsetting the 5% reduction in exports.
