The Mexican government is trying to quell
rumours that the air crash which killed the interior minister, Juan Camilo
Mouriño Terrazo, this week was a terrorist attack. The lead minister in this
policy is Luis Téllez, the communications minister, who was quick, when the news
of Mouriño's death first broke, to announce that foreign experts would be
invited in to help with the investigation. The death of Mouriño is a major blow
to the government and especially to President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa who was
personally close to him.
