After days of speculation surrounding whether Ecuador’s President Rafael Correa would grant asylum to Snowden, attention suddenly switched to Bolivia’s President Evo Morales after various European countries denied permission for his plane to use their airspace on his return from a trip to Russia, forcing it to divert course to Austria. The Bolivian government claimed that this was due to suspicion Snowden might be on the plane.
