MEXICO: Growth forecast lowered

The president of Mexico’s central bank (Banxico), Agustín Carstens, revealed this week that Banxico was lowering its economic growth forecast for the year to 2%-3%, down from 3%-4%. Carstens’ announcement came during his presentation of Banxico’s April-June inflation report. The revision follows the release of figures by Mexico’s finance ministry (SHCP) which showed that growth in the second quarter of the year had been slower than expected [WR-13-30].
