Staying competitive. On 3 September the World Economic Forum (WEF) released its 2013-2014 Global Competitiveness Report, which saw Mexico’s ranking fall two spots from 53
rd last year to 55
th this year. Despite the fall, further analysis of the results shows that Mexico fared well compared to its regional neighbours. Indeed, the report highlights that Latin America as a whole experienced little progress when it comes to improving its competitiveness levels since the previous report despite the fact that the region has experienced robust economic growth in the past couple of years.
