Stanford factor helps Spencer win re-election in Antigua

Prime minister Baldwin Spencer and his United Progressive Party (UPP) secured re-election in Antigua & Barbuda on 12 March in general elections heavily influenced by the scandal involving the twin-island state's chief benefactor, Sir Allen Stanford, who was accused of massive fraud in the US at the height of the Antiguan election campaign [WR-09-08].
