signalled how high a priority Mexico now has among US foreign policy concerns by
announcing that he would visit Mexico and President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa on
16 and 17 April. This will be Obama's first ever trip to Latin America and comes
just before the Summit of the Americas opens in Trinidad on 17 April. Obama's
visit will cap an active month of bilateral visits: on 18 March Fernando Gómez
Mont, Mexico's interior minister, started a two-day visit to Washington. On 25
and 26 March the US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton will visit Monterrey and
Mexico City. End of preview - This article contains approximately 1156 words.
