COLOMBIA | Santos announces new statistics guru. President Juan Manuel Santos has announced through his Twitter account that the economist Mauricio Perfetti will be the new director of the statistics agency (Dane). Perfetti, who is currently sectoral deputy director of the national planning department, will replace the previous head Jorge Bustamente after the latter announced his definitive resignation on 7 October, along with his deputy Juan Carlos Guataquí, due to differences with the government.
