ECUADOR: Gearing up for more elections

The national electoral council (CNE) has formally called local elections for 23 February 2014. The elections will see more than 5,500 public positions filled, including 23 provincial prefects, 221 mayors, 1,305 councillors, and 4,079 members of parish assemblies.
