Warplane purchase raises tension. Tension between El Salvador and Honduras was heightened by the latter’s 31 October confirmation that it has gone ahead with the purchase of 10 secondhand A-37 combat aircraft from Chile (though this acquisition had been announced by President Mauricio Funes back in August).
