MEXICO: Is the tide turning in Michoacán?

As President Enrique Peña Nieto ended his first year in office, the public was clearly unimpressed by his performance overall and disappointed by the results of his security policy. In at least one area, though, perceptions appear not to have kept up with developments: the government does appear to be making some progress against organised crime in strife-ridden Michoacán.
