Controversial mining project likely to go ahead in Peru

Development: On 20 January Peru’s Energy & Mining Minister Jorge Merino said that the government led by President Ollanta Humala will likely approve the environmental impact study for Southern Copper’s US$1bn Tía María project in the second quarter of 2014.
