BRAZIL: Opposition seeks Petrobras inquiry

The opposition is seeking support to launch a parliamentary investigation into supposed cases of embezzlement in Brazil's state-controlled energy company, Petrobras. The move comes as the long-running parliamentary inquiry into illegal wiretapping ended without concrete results. The opposition accused the government of manoeuvring its allies to save supposed “collaborators". Meanwhile, the senate remains paralysed by new corruption allegations.
