NICARAGUA: Liberals come back together - for now

The question we left hanging last week has been promptly, if provisionally, answered: following the collapse of the pact between the Sandinistas and the pro-Alemán Partido Liberal Constitucionalista (PLC), what followed was an alliance of the PLC and the pro-Bolaños Liberals in the assembly, at least for the purpose of approving the budget law required by the IMF (see Tracking Trends, next page).
