Victory is within sight for Salvador Sánchez Cerén. The presidential candidate for the left-wing Frente Farabundo Martí para la Liberación Nacional (FMLN) is heading into the second round of elections on 9 March having increased the lead he established over Norman Quijano, his rival from the right-wing Alianza Republicana Nacionalista (Arena), in the first round, according to six opinion polls published over the last week.
