Mantega defends Brazil’s poor growth result

Development: Speaking on 30 May, Brazil’s finance minister, Guido Mantega, blamed the volatile exchange rate, drought, the slow global recovery and the rise in inflation for disappointing first quarter growth of just 0.2% quarter-on-quarter (and a mere 0.8% year-on-year).
