There is no imminent prospect of a bilateral ceasefire in Colombia’s peace process – that is between President Juan Manuel Santos and his predecessor Alvaro Uribe (2002-2010). While the government and the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Farc) are inching towards the stage where a bilateral ceasefire could be implemented, the exchange of fire between Santos and Uribe has increased in tempo.
