ECUADOR: Anti-drug accord sealed with US

The US will formally hand over control of the Manta airbase on 18 September, just over two months after the last surveillance flight took off. Anti-drug cooperation between the US and Ecuador will not come to an end, however, with the expiry of the lease of the Manta forward operating location (FOL). The two countries have signed a new bilateral accord to combat the production and trafficking of illegal drugs and connected crimes.
