US President Barack Obama’s decision to use his executive powers to decree a series of changes to US immigration policy on 20 November may have not met with widespread approval on Capitol Hill or even fully satisfied the millions of campaigners in the US demanding comprehensive migration reform. But the move has nonetheless been hailed by the Mexican government led by President Enrique Peña Nieto as a welcome step in the right direction.
