REGION: Spying allegations proliferate

Only a matter of weeks after tension escalated between Chile and Peru over the Salitre military exercises in Antofogasta, the two countries are again at loggerheads. Peru's President Alan Garcí­a is accusing Chile of spying, an accusation vehemently denied by Chile. The allegations coincide with claims from Caracas that Colombia is spying on Venezuela, Cuba and Ecuador. They also come amid spying allegations at a domestic level in Argentina.
